Fans of Braxton Family Values may have noticed the celebrity siblings chose not to promote last week’s season premiere. We now know that Traci Braxton is the only sister 100% committed to the series, introducing former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks as the latest cast member in an interview with Good Day New York.

“Phaedra and I, you know, we always been in crossing of seeing each other,” Braxton explains. “So when the show was on a little hiatus I continued to work and Phaedra was contacted. She was like, ‘Of course, Traci, I would love to do some adventures with you.’ So we got together and we’ve been having a ball since.”

The hiatus was reportedly brought about after Tamar, Toni, Towanda, Trina and mom Evelyn Braxton walked off the set in June over a pay dispute, according to the Atlanta Black Star. Traci and Phaedra will also be joined by comedian Kym Whitley, reality TV star Tiffany “New York” Pollard and rapper Flavor Flav.

The sisters eventually return to the series, but Traci remains mum on how the situation was worked out. Check out the interview below.

Shortly after the report aired, Tamar shared a video of herself having drinks with Towanda and Trina, with all three throwing shade at the reality star attorney, saying she’s “not a Braxton.”

After deleting the post, Tamar followed it up with an Instagram live session where she more thoroughly aired her grievances.

While she has no problem with Phaedra personally, she felt blindsided by the casting decision as an executive producer who helps finance the series. She went on the say, “No one is supporting it. No one is watching it. No one is shooting it. No one wants anything to do with it.”
