Tank is a favorite among die-hard R&B fans, yet he still feels  overlooked by many. The “Star” singer took to social media recently to ask fans their thoughts on him switching up his sound to something more mainstream in hopes of broadening his overall appeal.

“I saw a comment the other day on one of my posts, that says, ‘Tank does a lot of core R&B music, which is great, and it definitely appeals to that crowd – he is the best at,” Tank says in the short clip. “But I wish he would do more mainstream music so he could appeal and appreciated by a broader audience. A much bigger audience. I felt like I’m very underrated because I stick to my foundation. Should I branch out and try bigger music for a bigger audience?”

The Jasmine Brand reports at least two pop stars responded to his inquiry, both encouraging the soulful crooner to make the transition.

Justin Timberlake let the DMV native know he’d be willing to collaborate, responding, “Let’s get in the studio and do BOTH, big bro! Right after you get them groceries #HappyWife”

Jennifer Lopez also told the singer to, “Do it!! Do It all!,” with Tank responding “This means the universe to me. It all will be done.”

Do you think Tank should transition into pop?
