Gospel mainstays The Legendary Clark Sisters will soon see their lives play out on the small screen, as the singing siblings will be the subject of an upcoming Lifetime film produced by Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott. A television movie chronicling their rise to stardom, You Brought the Sunshine, will air early 2019.

“It is with great anticipation that we share with you the story of the Clark Sisters You Brought The Sunshine coming early 2019 we are so excited,” reads an Instagram post from the group, accompanied by a teaser from the film.

There’s no word yet on who will portray the Grammy Award-winning quintet comprised of sisters Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Twinkie Clark and Jacky Clark Chisholm.

It should come as no surprise that the revered vocalists landed a biopic, as they’ve directly influenced some of the industry’s biggest names, including Beyoncé and Mariah Carey, who called The Clark Sisters her “favorite gospel group,” during a Q&A with The Independent.

Carey praised the family again following Karen’s 2012 BMI Urban Musical Award Tribute to the singer. The gospel legend took on Carey’s 1993 hit, “Anytime You Need A Friend.” The “Heartbreaker” singer also showed her appreciation for Karen a year later via Twitter.

“Just hearing Karen Clark Sheard say my name and sing my song is such an honor I can’t begin to speak of.
