In news I can’t make up, Michael Vick and Bow Wow are teaming up on a business venture Wave Masterz. Per Vick’s Twitter, Wave Masterz is "ingeniously brought to you by @SMOSS aka Bow Wow (Rapper/Actor/Entertainer/Mogul)and @MIKEVICK (NFL QB).” More, the company's website promises Wave Masterz will "set ya city on fire" via the sale of other hair care supplies such as brushes, pomades and wave caps. I can’t wait for Master P and Ben Vereen to start selling No Limit Hot Sauce and Spice Racks. [Access Atlanta]

Not to be outdone, Ashanti’s sister, Shia Douglas and her “Presidential Dymes” crew have launched the new Dymes Apparel – which is described as feminine streetwear for “female hustlers.”

When asked about her sissy’s new business venture, Ashanti said: “Oh my gosh! I was so emotional. I was so proud. Because I get to see everything behind the scenes and to see it come to life was such an amazing feeling.  They would be in my living room, two, three in the morning- coming up with ideas. You know, a little bit of arguing. A little bit of laughing. A little bit of crying, just getting it together. So it’s a blessing to see it all come together tonight.” There, I’ve helped y’all out with your stocking stuffers for next Kwanzaa. You’re welcome. [Necole Bitchie]

Jill Scott is a busy woman. She’s recording a new album due later this year while also shooting the James Brown biopic entitled Get Up On It. Now, the singer-writer-poet-actress says she’ll be joining NBC’s The Voice as one of Usher’s mentors. On that, Scott said, "It's a show I watch and enjoy because singers are really being given an opportunity to sing. It's not all about the look or the visual. It's really about the tone of the voice, the passion that lives inside of it."

Okay, enough of that. What’s the word on what her voice will be giving on the new project? Scott says expect "a meeting of Philly and Nashville soul." That said, she’s "still in the cooking process, cutting and chopping but much closer than I was two months ago." [Billboard]

R. Kelly is in real danger of being tossed in jail. No, not for the reasons he (“allegedly”) deserves to be locked up for. It is kid related, though. Reports say he’s behind on his $20,833 a month in child support. Previously, the playground prince of R&B fell behind more than $100,000 in payments last year, but ultimately caught up with payments. He’s been skipping court dates over the issue (said to be hiding in a bunker – girl, I don’t know) and the judge is fed up. I imagine he’ll figure out a way to avoid going behind bars, but keep hope alive, y’all. [Crunk + Disorderly]

American novelist and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis is reportedly working with Kanye West on a film project. When asked if he could discuss the project, Ellis said: “You know what, I can’t. It’s in ‘Kanye Land,’ and that’s subject to a whole other time frame. He came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He’d given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So f*ck it, I said yes. And that’s how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We’ll see what happens.

I really like him as a person. I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if you’re just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it’s kind of mind-blowing.”

The last Kanye cinematic masterpiece I saw reminded me of Toucan Sam and the virtue of silence. Good luck to all parties involved. [Vice]

Just like Rihanna, Brian McKnight is suing his accounts amid claims of gross financial mismanagement. McKnight has filed a suit against Vernon Brown and Company, claiming Brown “ruined his life by failing to pay any of Brian’s taxes for close to a decade, resulting in more than a million dollars in back taxes, and an additional $500,000 in penalties and interest.”

It got so bad that McKnight says “Brown knew he screwed up and secretly contacted Congressman Henry Waxman and gave him a phony sob story that got Waxman to contact the IRS and get McKnight back on an installment plan.” Now he says he’s got bad credit, no license (suspended for failure to pay taxes), his royalty payments have been frozen, and life is just all around bad. Poor guy. Who could’ve imagined his life would’ve worsened after he sang that song about anal sex? [EURWeb]

Cee Lo may have a show in development at NBC, but he’s done with the The Voice.

In a statement, Cee Lo explains: "There are numerous reasons that led to this decision, which has been amicably reached with NBC, but I'm excited to be developing several other ideas with the network and my association with NBC remains strong," the singer said. "The Voice has been an immensely enjoyable experience for me and I can only hope I have enriched the lives of our viewers, the contestants, and the many friends I made there. I will always be there in spirit. Meanwhile, NBC and I plan to continue our relationship with several new co-ventures including a new music show, while we also explore our ideas for me to create and host a new show of my own. I will not go quietly into the night… expect more great music and entertainment done in my own unique unmistakable and undeniable way. The Voice has given me all the altitude and incentive to do just that. Thanks for the memories and make way for many more!”

Happy Birthday, Usher. [Us Weekly]

In a blog post on Bravo, NeNe Leakes apologized for her behavior at a charity event featured on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

NeNe wrote: “I don't have a lot I want to say, but I'll start by saying I apologize for my behavior at the charity event. I definitely don't want to teach young women that this is the proper way to respond when someone is trying to trick you into a situation and push your buttons. I would much rather teach young women to be aware of the wolves in sheep’s clothing.”

Be that as it may, she still doesn’t see it for Kenya Moore: “I'm not surprised things have gone down the way they have between Kenya and me. She had beef with Cynthia over the whole coochie crack thing, then moved on to Porsha, then to Phaedra over a booty video, then to Apollo, and now me! I see straight through her! She's not original. What's she's doing has already been done. I have always stood alone in a war! I might bend, but I won't break, and if I stumble, I won't fall! I see what she’s doing and so do you.”

All I can hear right now is Teena Marie’s “Déjà vu (I’ve Been Here Before).” Sing along if you know the words, y’all. [Nene Leakes’ Bravo Blog]

Is Brandy single again, back on the block? The singer-actress hasn’t been spotted rocking her engagement ring lately, sparking breakup rumors between her and Ryan Press. According to the Snitch: “The whispers got louder last week after Ray J threw a surprise party for Brandy's 35th birthday with Ryan mysteriously NOT in attendance. Brandy also hasn't been photographed, on Instagram or otherwise, with her ‘fiancé’ in over 3 months…so…um…yeah.

I’m just going to think positively for the woman. Like, maybe her finger was swollen. A bee stung it or something. [Rhymes With Snitch]

And sorry, Outkast fans. No new music awaits you. Big Boi explained: “No, no, no. We’re just doing the tour only, just for the fans. That’s all it is, just the tour.” [Miss Info]
