Heart Inflammation Probed As Potential Vaccine Side Effect In Teens

Medical experts are looking to determine whether recent cases of heart inflammation in teens are a rare side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine, The Associated Press reports. An article published in Pediatrics revealed that seven teen boys who received the Pfizer shot between April and May developed chest pain. Imaging tests revealed heart and muscle inflammation. However, a link between inflammation and the vaccine has not been proven. The type of inflammation experienced by the teens, which is called "myocarditis," is a common occurence in the presence of several other types of infections. None of the boys were considered critically ill and all were considered healthy enough to be discharged from the hospital after two to six days.

"President Trump and I have spoken many times since we've left office and I don't know if we'll ever see eye-to-eye on that day, but I will always be proud of what we accomplished for the American people over the last four years."
