Katt Williams’ recent criticism of several of his comedy peers during a radio interview has prompted at least two of them to respond to the Ohio native’s digs, with Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart challenging comments he made on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station.

During an interview on the Frank and Wanda In The Morning show, the Pimp Chronicles comic took jabs at stand-ups Jerrod Carmichael, Lil Rel Howery, Kevin Hart and Hannibal Buress.

“What makes a great comedy special is if 100 people talk at the same time that you’re talking, are you saying something different than them people are saying? Because, if you are, then you deserve a special, and if you don’t, you gon’ find out you not special.

“Because, they gon’ let you do your special, Jerrod Carmichael, but nobody’s going to watch it. They gon’ let you be a star, Lil Rel, but you ugly, and White people don’t believe in ugly stars. They think you have to be somebody that women want to sleep wit and men want to be. But because we Black, they say we don’t even deserve that, so you get Kevin Hart, Lil Rel, Jerrod Carmichael all in a row, Hannibal Buress, just dudes that no woman would talk to in Lenox Mall, let alone, you making them movie stars?”

Williams went on to say Haddish has yet to prove herself as a comedian, surpassing several other female stand-ups who’ve put in far more work. He also believes the fanfare she received for her breakout role in Girls Trip should be attributed to the writing, not Haddish herself.

“[Tiffany Haddish] been doing comedy since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet. She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes, back to back for an hour to nobody.”

Hear Katt Williams discuss his peers at the 5:40 mark.

Haddish took to social media to respond, thanking Williams for the free publicity while pointing out he was inaccurate in saying she’s yet to write an hour’s worth of material. The California girl’s Showtime special, She Ready, premiered on the network last year. Haddish will also deliver her first Netflix special in January 2019.

“It’s official I made it!@KattPackAllDay talked about me and didn’t have his facts right! #Iwin #sheready I look forward to seeing you on Monday Katt, when we pick up our Emmys. I just want to shower you with REAL Love cause you need it, and I Love you.”

Kevin Hart also came to his Night School co-star’s defense, saying she worked her way up the industry ladder on her own merits and deserves to be the star she’s become.

“Let me break it down to you because I love to support. I go back with Tiff. I remember the days when Tiffany Haddish was sleeping out her car. I remember the days when Tiffany Haddish was homeless. I remember the days when Tiffany Haddish didn’t have a dime in her goddamn pocket. Worked hard grinded and got to where she is today and at the height of her career when most should applaud, most should celebrate some choose to down.

“So what I see is a woman who is well deserving of the position that she’s in.”
