A New York high school has the distinction of having its top two students be twin sisters!

Black Girl Magic is on full display as Gloria Guerrier and Victoria Guerrier were named valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2023 at West Hempstead Secondary School in New York.

According to the school records, Gloria pulled an astounding grade point average of 105.3 and Victoria’s earned an incredible 104.9. In their academic tenures,  neither sister has received a grade lower than a 100.

The officials from West Hempstead Secondary School lauded the sisters for their hard work and determination in an official statement.

"Their latest feat is just one of many accolades that they have achieved both in and outside of the classroom," the school’s statement read. "They are in the top 5% of the secondary school's graduating class and have never shied away from a challenging course load. Year after year, they have chosen and enrolled in the most rigorous advanced courses that were available to their grade level and excelled in them all."

In an appearance on Good Morning America, the sisters explained how working hard and pushing each other to strive for excellence has paid off in a major way.

“We had been working for this for a long time but we never know what can happen in the four years,” Victoria said. “So we’re very happy that it turned out the way we wanted.”

“It’s like the saying, ‘How iron sharpens iron,’” Gloria added. “We really use each other to improve upon ourselves. I think that level of competition between us was what really helped us.”

In addition to their pristine academic records, the twins are also three-sport varsity athletes. They both earned All-State and All-County honors in track.

This fall, the sisters will be attending Yale University, where they’ll study computer science and continue to push each other to their future greatness.
