The Tyson and Kimberly Chandler Holiday Shopping Experience was held Thursday, December 19, 2013 for five New York City families in need at Target in Harlem. Hosted in partnership with Hain Celestial Group, the families celebrated the holidays and shopped for Christmas gifts alongside New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler and his wife, Kimberly.

In addition to shopping vouchers, each family also received tickets to a New York Knicks game (supplied by Chase), a box of Hain Celestial food products, team gear provided by the Knicks, and House of Marley headphones, with transportation provided by UBER.

“Kimberly and I are grateful to celebrate with these families, helping to fill their shopping carts with gifts to go under their trees for Christmas morning,” said Tyson Chandler. “The people of New York have been incredibly supportive of me and this is just a small thing I can do to give back.”

“Giving back to the community is very important to us as a family,” said Kimberly Chandler. “It is so rewarding to see the happiness on the faces of these children and their families, and to know that we are able to play a part in making this Christmas a memorable one for them.”

The families were identified through the NYC Administration for Children’s Services and Hillsong Church of NYC, which helps families from the Rockaways that were victims of Superstorm Sandy, as well as families throughout New York City.
