Atlanta R&B crooner Usher decided to switch it up for 2019, debuting a new look for his fans via Instagram.
The “U Got It Bad” singer hopped online to show off his new perm and cut, reminiscent of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Yung Joc’s permed look from 2017.

Usher is aware that many will crack jokes or think the look is too old-fashioned, but the eight-time Grammy winner could care less, telling viewers he wanted to give them “something new, something to look at.” He also claimed the style made him feel like a “pimp” or the “Black Superman.” Check out video of the singer premiering the look on New Year’s Eve below.
