Rapper Ric Wilson posted a video on Tuesday of a White reporter being confronted by Richard Williams, father of Serena and Venus Williams, for questioning why a then 14-year-old Venus was so confident.
“I know I can beat her…I’m very confident,” Venus says to the reporter, who questions her saying, “You say it so easily. Why?”
Before she can properly respond to the question, her dad, Richard Williams, steps in and blasts the reporter for he told her.
“You’ve got to understand that you’re dealing with [the] image of a 14-year-old child. And this child is gonna be out there playing when your old a*s and me are gonna be in the grave,” he can be heard saying in the video. “You’re dealing with a little Black kid, and let her be a kid.”
