In the new film Chevalier, actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. stars as Joseph Bologne Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a brilliant Black 18th century violinist and composer born to an enslaved African woman and a French plantation owner.
EBONY correspondent Yonathan Elias spoke with Harrison Jr. about the new movie and the pivotal composer getting the acclaim he so deserves.
"He was such a trailblazer. He was relentless, he was fearless. To be able to showcase him and show his name in lights...He's finally getting that opportunity and it's really incredible," said Harrison reflecting on the brilliance of the composer. "We should all celebrate him, he deserves it,"
