Georgetown University announced the release of a report on Thursday that explores the school’s history with the slave trade and seeks to atone from the profit of the sale of 272 people who were held in bondage. It is the result of a lengthy study and empanelment of groups of scholars and researchers who sought to find out more about the transaction, its long term effects, and the descendants of those who were sold.

The school’s president John DeGioia is leading the campus community’s discussion of the study in a live webcast from Gaston Hall. Click “play” on the screen above to watch.
