A federal jury on Monday convicted a Virginia pastor and his wife in a $2 million fraud scheme. Terry Millender, former senior pastor of Victorious Life Church,  and his wife, BrendaMillender, were arrested in October.

The couple, who are in their 50s, told friends, business investors and congregation members from the Alexandria, Virgina, church that their money would go toward an organization that assisted people in third-world countries with loans. Instead, the couple threw lavish birthday parties, went on golf trips and bought a $1.75 million home. The pastor was found guilty on 31 counts of fraud-related charges while his wife was convicted of seven.

The Millenders will be sentenced in March and may face up to 20 years in prison.
