Our habit of surfing the web, social media and consuming of other apps via our phones is taking a huge toll on the amount of sleep we get, says a study conducted by researchers affiliated with Mattress Advisor.

More than 1,000 people were surveyed to discover which smartphone apps more most popular and how much sleep people are sacrificing in the name of using them.

Some of the study’s findings can be viewed below.

  • Pinterest and YouTube users get the worst sleep at night
  • Nearly 50% of Millennials have fallen asleep with their phone in hand
  • More than 1 in 10 people who used YouTube spent over 52 minutes watching videos before bed
  • 71% of people admitted to checking their smartphone before bed and more people check their phones in the morning before even making coffee
