Michelle Obama is not stopping in her mission to clean up the diets of the American youth. Through her “Let’s Move” initiative, she announced on Monday that there will be a competition for the healthiest kid chefs in the country. “We all want to ensure that our kids are eating nutritious, delicious food at every meal, and as a mom I know that parents are always looking for new ideas to make that happen,” she said. “With parents and kids all across the country getting creative in the kitchen, I know we’ll find healthy meals that every family will enjoy.”

A part of the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge, the White House is encouraging kid chefs to submit their original recipes online. Open to children ages 8-12, applicants are being asked to look at MyPlate nutritional guidelines to represent each food group. Winners will be invited to the Kids’ “State Dinner” at the White House in August.
