Welp…it looks like alleged Mega Millions winner Mirlande Wilson was a big liar. Instead, three educators won and claimed the Maryland money this week after much debate as to who the real winner was. Although they chose not to share their names with the public, the self-titled “Three Amigos” were working several jobs to support themselves when they went in on the tickets at a local 7-Eleven. "If it can't be you, these are precisely the people that you would want to see win the lottery," said Stephen Martino, director of the Maryland Lottery.

The winners are a woman in her 20s, a man in his 40s, and another woman in her 50s, and they work as an elementary school teacher, a special education teacher, and an administrative worker. The two teachers said they plan to continue teaching because they “can’t give up their kids.” After listening to news reports, taking notes on money advice, and getting a financial advisor, they showed up to claim their $35 million a piece. The lottery confirmed that Wilson, the mother of seven who lost her job at McDonald’s after claiming the win, did not have the lucky ticket. The Kansas winner came forward last week, but the Illinois winner has yet to claim their prize
