Paramount and Ziggy Marley are developing a biopic about Jamaican singer-songwriter Bob Marley, Deadline reports.

Bob Marley is largely credited with introducing reggae to the mainstream with songs such as “One Love,” “No Woman, No Cry,”  “Buffalo Soldier” and “Redemption Song.”

He died in 1981 at age 36 after a bout with cancer.

The project is reportedly in the early stages; there is no director, nor writers or producers attached to the film, according to Deadline.

Ziggy Marley has produced other projects about his late father. He served as an executive producer on the documentaries Bob Marley Legend Remixed, Marley and Marley Africa Roadtrip.
