Black TV is having a really great year with shows like Insecure, Atlanta, Queen Sugar, and Underground ruling the airwaves–and it looks like it’s only going to get better. After continuing to score ratings wins and critical acclaim, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is gearing up for a spin-off of the popular show.

The yet untitled project was announced back in January and will center on Black-ish star Yara Shahidi as her character, Zoey, heads off to college. Though much hasn’t been announced about the show, it has added several cast members, including Burning Sands star Trevor Jackson. According to Shadow & Act, Jackson will be a college freshman opposite Shahidi, while SNL’s Chris Parnell and Veep’s Matt Walsh will play a pair of college administrators.

This latest season of Black-ish has tackled a host of issues from racism and sexism to police brutality and the most recent presidential election. Spinning-off Zoey’s character could open up a whole new array of subjects as college campuses can spawn convos about sexual assault, drinking, and a deeper exploration of race. It will be interesting to see if Barris can recreate the magic he’s been making on Black-ish on the new show. But we’re definitely rooting for him.
