Breaking In stars Gabrielle Union as Shaun Russell, a desperate mother trying to break into a home with impenetrable security where her two children are being held hostage.
The film is produced by Union and Will Packer (Think Like a Man, Girls Trip) and finds the actress performing in a thriller, unlike other roles she has played. Because of the physicality of the part, Union “was able to take out all my aggression during the making of this film.”
“Gabrielle Union can really kick a**. She is an amazing actor; let’s combine those and see what she can do,” Packer said as to why he chose her for the part. The Breaking In screenplay is based on the story of Jaime Primak Sullivan, who will serve as the executive producer.
Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) the movie also stars Aijona Alexus (Acrimony), Billy Burke (Twilight), Richard Cabral (End of Watch), Seth Carr (Black Panther), Jason George (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy), Levi Meaden (Pacific Rim: Uprising) and Christa Miller (Cougar Town).
The action-packed film hits theaters on May 11, just in time to ring in Mother’s Day. Watch the exclusive video feature above!
