Drake is grieving the loss of Kay, a fan he met through Make-A-Wish, an organization that arranges for children diagnosed with critical illnesses to be granted the wish of a lifetime. On Sunday, the rapper took to Instagram to pay respects and detail the strong bond he formed with the young woman.
“Gonna miss you a whole lot,” Drake wrote under a photo of him at Kay’s hospital bedside. “We built a genuine bond you would text me and check on me while I was on tour and tell me positive things and share your dreams and goals.”
He described the emotional moment captured in the photo. “I am crying in this pic but it was tears of joy cause we just prayed for you with your father.”
Drake went on to apologize for missing a message Kay sent him on his birthday, Oct. 24. He also revealed plans to visit the sick fan once he finished on his Aubrey & Three Migos tour.
“I don’t know why I am writing this on IG I just need to get it out cause it’s sitting heavy on my heart,” he said. “Will remember you forever K!”
