When a cryptic social media post led fans to believe Bryan “Birdman” Williams’srelationship with Toni Braxton was over, the singer and the Cash Money boss decided to let the rumors circulate, despite privately continuing their relationship.
Birdman recently confirmed he was still engaged to the “Breathe Again” singer. Braxton herself is now speaking out as well, explaining that they went along with the break-up reports for the sake of gaining a bit more privacy.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the songstress said she wasn’t aware of how the rumors started, but that they had no problem letting people believe them.
“We don’t know what happened. It just kind of (came out of nowhere). Someone said it and we were like, ‘OK, we’ll just ride with it because it’ll give us some privacy.’ We’re good.”
During a trip to The Wendy Williams Show, Birdman denied he wrote “It’s Over” on Instagram, the social media post that led some to believe the couple split.
“It was fake. I don’t know how this s**t took place, but for real, I would never be a man to bring none of my business to social media.”
