Roger Sr. and Sonja,
born in Clyo, Georgia, met in elementary school in the first grade. By third grade, Roger was smitten. "I kissed her at the water fountain. She hit the jackpot in third grade and didn't even realize it."
Scott & Sons Trucking
is one of several successful businesses Roger has owned in his life. This truck is dedicated to the team of his wife's alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs.
My Three Sons.
As a father, Roger wants to assure his boys have the best and that he is doing his best. As the family many members look up to, "it's a lot of pressure sometimes."
Darius, the middle son,
is a drummer, plays football, basketball and runs track. An honors student, he plans to major in robotics in college.
is the artsy one. His mom expects him to have a future in furniture design. Mrs. Scott describes him as quiet but always thinking about what he can create.
Scott & Sons Back-to-School Rally.
Great food, school supplies, gospel music, face-painting and a basketball tournament are some of the many offerings provided by the rally every summer.
Sonja Scott is a businesswoman,
a public speaker, a photographer and minister. Roger says, "My wife keeps me grounded and she prays for me on a daily basis."
Roger, a Dallas Cowboys fan,
owns 26 trucks and manages over 100 as a subcontractor. "When I'm doing something, I want to take it to the top. A lot of people are scared to stick their necks out. I was dedicated and hardworking. I just kept getting more contracts."
The Scott family
backs the star. Sonja says, "We travel to games as a family and spend a week at a time in Dallas. We enjoy each other."
The High School Graduate.
Mrs. Scott is elated and proud of Roger Jr.'s accomplishment as a graduate. "He's very kind and gentle. He pulls at my heartstrings."
Roger Jr., 19,
the firstborn, underwent open-heart surgery at 7 months, unexpected to live. Now he's a healthy 6'2" former football player and high school graduate.
Travel is integral to the Scott dynamic.
Sonja believes that travel gives the family time to bond with what they like
about one another. "We love each other as a family, but you have to like each other."
