Charlamagne Tha God is arguably the biggest voice in urban radio today, getting his start as sidekick to radio-turned-television host Wendy Williams. The two are no longer friendly, with Williams denying she ever knew her protégé back in 2014.
The Breakfast Club host and the talk show diva haven’t spoken since 2010, with Charlamagne recently explaining that her husband, Kevin Hunter, and his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, are the main reasons they are no longer cordial.
“The reason Kevin Hunter and I fell out, and the reason why I don’t communicate with Wendy anymore is because of Sharina,” Charlamagne told Page Six of a 2009 incident. “Kevin got upset because he thought Sharina liked one of my homeboys and he thought that I was hooking Sharina up [with other men].”
The South Carolina native believes Hunter was either hoping to start or had already begun an affair with Hudson at the time, adding, “Mind you, Kevin was married to Wendy at the time.”
He went on to say Hunter later went out of his way, “to try to stop my livelihood, to cut my head off and stop me from other jobs. He has done it a couple of times. Kevin has definitely got a couple of cease and desist letters from my attorney.”
Love B Scott reported in December that Hunter had a child on the way with Hudson. The site now reports that the alleged mistress has given birth to a baby girl just days after Williams admitted to checking herself into a sober house. The Williams-Hunter family deny all allegations of infidelity.
