EBONY Is Among 2019 GLAAD Media Award Nominees

Pose star Mj Rodriguez and Crazy Rich Asians actor Nico Santos announced the nominees for the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards on Friday during the Sundance Film Festival.

The awards “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community and the issues that affect their lives,” according to the organization’s website.

EBONY was among the 151 nominees in 27 categories. The historic African-American publication scored a nod in the Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage category, competing against Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, GQ and Variety.

The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies, which fund GLAAD’s work to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance, will be held in Los Angeles on March 28 at the Beverly Hilton, and in New York on May 4 at the Hilton Midtown.
