A police officer punched and pinned a 17-year old to the ground outside Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and it was all captured on video.
Mayfair Mall security guards called law enforcement on Friday for a group of “people making a disturbance and refusing to leave,” CBS News reports.
The video shows an officer punching a teen in the head, while he and another officer wrestled the teen to the ground. The officers pin him down while they handcuff his hands and are seen striking him in the head, despite being pinned down.
A witness to the incident can be heard on the video asking why the officers were attacking the teen.
“Why’d they punch him like that — and he’s a minor,” the person said.
The teen was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct, battery and resisting an officer, according to WDJT-TV.
The Wauwatosa Police Department said that they are looking into the matter but that the video showed “only a small segment of the interaction between the suspect and the officer.”
The Black Panthers have gotten involved and said they’re holding the mall security and police accountable for the incident.
It doesn’t matter if that individual was causing a disturbance in the Mayfair Mall, he did not deserve to be brutally assaulted, and punched in his face and knocked down and then placed on his stomach and punched in his face again,” Black Panthers Milwaukee leader, King Rick, told WDJT-TV.
