EBONY eased on down the green carpet for the opening night of The Wiz, now playing in New York City. The first revival of the musical in 40 years, the show enjoyed a national tour before landing at its Broadway engagement at the Marquis Theatre.
EBONY brought Broadway reporter Joel Crump—a veteran to the carpets at 15—to get the tea on all things happening in the Emerald City. There, he spoke with stars Wayne Brady and Deborah Cox, who play The Wiz and Glinda, respectively, Broadway newcomers Nichelle Lewis (Dorothy) and Avery Wilson (Scarecrow), and more.
The Wiz on Broadway is now playing for a limited engagement at the Marquis Theatre.
