Onyx Collective's and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s newest docuseries The Hair Tales explores one of the many ways Black women come of age through their relationship with their hair.
EBONY March 2022 cover star Tracee Ellis Ross, an executive producer of the docu-series, sat down with EBONY correspondent Jenn Rodriguez to discuss the dynamic relationship Black women share with their hair and the inspiration behind the new docuseries.
"I can chronicle my journey of self-acceptance through my hair. Discovering and meeting my hair where it was and how it naturally grew out of my head and learning how to care for it, finding the right products and right people who were going to love on my hair and believe in my hair the way I was going to believe in my hair," said Ellis Ross.
