Tyler Perry’s newest film, Mea Culpa, has it all: sex, money and murder.

In Mea Culpa, attorney Mea Harper, played by Kelly Rowland, takes on the murder case of artist Zyair Malloy (Trevante Rhodes), but the truth is not in black and white. With a seductive client and layers of mystery to uncover, Mea navigates a dangerous game where desire ignites, and secrets surface.

Rowland and Rhodes spoke with EBONY about how they connected with their characters, working behind the scenes in post-production, and, of course, their electric onscreen chemistry.

Mea Culpa airs February 23, 2024, on Netflix.
